Audition for a place
Sean Rumsey presents Dani Farquhar with her training certificate
Sean from "Future Proof" makes a surprise appearance to present Dani Farquhar with her training certificate.

Town Hall, Leamington Spa

Our auditions will take place on Saturday 31st February 2009 at Leamington Town Hall. Doors will open at 10am and we will admit the last person at 12 noon. In order to be granted a place on the scheme, successful applicants from all auditions will then be expected to attend an induction day at the Town Hall in Leamington Spa on Sunday 1st February 2009 from 10am until 1pm - with a parent or guardian in attendance for those under 18.

The Audition songs
At the 2009 auditions, we will ask you to perform a verse and chorus from a song of your choice. We may ask you to sing a second song - so have one prepared! Choose a song that suits your voice - and don´t try to impress the panel by being too clever and technical. Often - the simpler songs will ´show off´ your voice much better. We are listening to make sure you can sing in tune, sing in time, and we are also checking out the tonal quality of your voice.

Leamington Town Hall offers all the facilities we need to run the auditions efficiently and safely – and is more or less centrally based in Coventry & Warwickshire. It is also appropriate as it is the home of the community council – Warwick District Council – who kindly let us use it for the weekend. The Town Hall is a lovely building and the natural acoustics in all the audition rooms will help make your voice sound great.

We abide by a positive code of conduct which means that you will be treated with respect at all times – and we give you all the support we can on the day to help you relax and give your best performance. All of our admin staff are also musicians, and many of them will be performers from TeenIdol last year who have volunteered their time to come and help you. Our panellists at the auditions will all be qualified to assess your performance through their own personal knowledge and teaching/coaching experience. Everyone will receive a written assessment of their voice and performance, and there will be support staff available to discuss any questions you may have about what to do next.

The doors will open at 10am – try and arrive early – and Good Luck!
