TeenIdol graduates and Future Proof at Rugby Concert
In December 2007 - TeenIdol graduates and the Big Help Academy support Future Proof - and find time to pose with them backstage!

In 2007 - TeenIdol graduates and Big Help Academy performers and Choir performed at the Warwick Lights, the Kenilworth Lights, and the Rugby Lights. Once again, we were not invited to perform at the Leamington Lights - so we booked a venue on the same night and staged our own charity concert at The Nelson Hall, Warwick in order to raise over £1,000 for local charity the Myton Hospice.

Previous Years
In 2005 we took part in even more concerts.

As well as entertaining the crowds in Warwick, Rugby and Coventry - Big Help management organised a TeenIdol Christmas special in the Royal Priors Mall on the Friday night before Christmas. It was a very festive show beneath the giant Christmas tree and helped get everyone in the right spirit for the holiday weekend. The crowds enjoyed some great performances from some of our latest graduates - as wll as welcoming back a few old friends.

In 2004 we had more graduates on stage than ever before.

With performances at Warwick, Leamington and Rugby - our 2004 graduates entertained thousands of people at our Christmas shows with a variety of favourites both old and new. The highlight was our big choral production of "Do they know it´s Christmas?" which coincided with the official re-release of the UK single. Sheridan French and Marie Batchelder also gave some of their early live solo performances - with Marie performing an exclusive of some of her new songs.

Here´s what happened in 2003

We started out with the “TeenIdol theme” performed by Laura McElvenny, Holly Collins, Ashley Wright & Deonne Williams. We were delighted when Warren, Ryan and Ian formed a new band “Emerge”. They have been busy writing their own material and performed their brand new song “One Way Ticket”. Zoe has been busy in the studio working with Matt Waddell – Teenidol’s music Producer – and has also started writing her own songs. On this occasion she performed “Made in Heaven” – a new song written only days before the concert by Matt and Patrizio Moi (Italian producer/arranger for Andreas Bocelli) – including a live saxophone solo written by Zoe. Laura Bettinson followed up with “Castles in the Sky” – another new song by Kenilworth writer Tim Spencer. We ended with everyone singing “Downtown” – including Sue and the crowd. Shortly afterwards Santa arrived to switch on the lights and a good time was had by all.

The Warwick Christmas lights concert was broadcast by The Bear FM Radio and took place in Warwick Market Square on Friday 5th December 2004.

Deonne wowed the crowd with “I’m in Chains”, followed by Laura Bettinson with “Natural Woman” and “Castles in the Sky”. Despite suffering from an awful cold Laura gave a great performance. Unfortunately the guys in ‘Emerge’ had gone down with the flu and were unable to make it – but Kirsty Wright gave a very polished performance of “Black Velvet”. The TeenIdol team took to the stage for “Dowtown”.

As well as opening the show, TeenIdol was also top of the bill, and we rounded off the evening with the TeenIdol theme, more great moves from Kirsty, and Zoe finished off with “Made in Heaven”. The front of the stage was inundated with hordes of screaming teenagers at one point – but it turned out to be all Zoe’s friends from school and the Jazz orchestra who had come to support her. The Bear presenters were delighted at the TeenIdol performances and ended up interviewing all of them as well as giving our events in 2004 a healthy plug. A big thank you to all at The Bear for their support.
